Nick Verstand's "Aura"

Audiovisual installation transforms emotions into beams of light                                                                                                       Nick Verstand, Aura

Aura is an exploration of light as a medium. The installation explores how the visual perception of emotions influences the understanding of the self as well as others - fostering meaningful interactions.

I think this installation was such a powerful way of getting participants to interact and respond to their emotions without having to say a word. A lot of today's interaction as been reduced to social media. Even though it is still an outlet that fosters expression, social media has been crippling our ability to properly convey emotion through face-to-face human interactions. Aura fosters emotional confrontation that creates a self awareness we can share with others.

This work was eyeopening to the possibilities of exploring emotion through various media.

This is my weeks field highlights. This weeks tasks were a test at how well we would be able to maintain our attitudes while out on the streets talking to people about the local charity (D.C. Strings ) we represent. I think this was by far one of the hardest things I had to do. I found it extremely uncomfortable trying to stop people to talk. Everyone seemed too busy to stop and in a hurry. I started the week trying to be positive but failing to maintain the best outlook. I ended the week in a much better place and even  enjoyed the conversation we shared with a few people we stopped.

ANDDD WE ARE BACK....😎

Here are a few of the pieces I have made since my previous updates I would say they are still a work in progress and need a few tweaks BUT WE ARE MAKING PROGRESS FOLKS !!! 😎
